Welcome to Le Negociant, a blog about the research journey behind a book of the same name. See the About section for background. This blog is really about inspiring me to finish writing the book and also to enjoy the process of researching a novel based on real historical lives. It will also be a study of 18th and 19th century values, lifestyles and dramatic social and economic changes that enveloped the world at that time with a focus on Bordeaux, France and Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia as seen through the eyes of the energetic French entrepreneur, Jean Emile Serisier.
