Barefoot in the Hills by Lorna Noonan
It’s here! Lorna Noonan’s book Barefoot in the Hills. All the way from Perth where Lorna Noonan (nee Serisier) lives and where she wrote this book, primarily for her family.
Thanks to Sandra Smith for sourcing it (I hear she and Lorna had a great chat) and send it on to the USA. Big hugs.
Lorna’s grandfather is Jean Emile’s son, Frederick Achilles. Frederick was 12 years-old at the time of Jean’s death.
As the family split between supporting his widowed mother Margaret and her new flame, Rene – or not, he followed his mother to Western Australia.
Lorna’s book tells a great deal about her mother’s family but Jean does get a significant mention and I cannot wait to plough the pages and read about Frederick’s family tree for clues about who he was and the life he created after he left Dubbo.
I’ll let you know what I find!
