I am currently travelling in Australia and have returned to Dubbo for more research on Negociant. Yesterday I had the pleasure of touring Jean Serisier’s former home on the property Eumalga and visiting the family crypt which was on a neighbouring property.
Moving through the spaces Jean and his family and the host of characters who appear in my book, have once moved and lived in has been very special and inspiring.
Thank you to Anne Knaggs and her nephew, Michael Knaggs for taking time out of your day and sharing these important places.

I’m so impressed with all that you have done so far, Yvette. It’s truly a monumental task to uncover the full picture which, it seems, also involves finding all the minutiae that one can find to form the whole tapestry of Jean Emile’s life & times. I really wish I could add something to this tale of a great pioneer of this nation’s early days.
